Terms of Service

Last updated: August 23, 2026

These terms govern your use of Magical Meta (magicalmeta.ink), referred to below as "the site". Who "we" and "us" means is set out in section 2. Please read these terms before using the site. They are written in plain English on purpose.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By visiting or using Magical Meta you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of them, please stop using the site.

Age requirements are in section 4.

2. Who Operates Magical Meta

Magical Meta is operated by its individual owner, based in California, United States (the "Operator"). In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" mean the Operator. Every right, obligation, disclaimer, and limitation in these terms that applies to us applies to the Operator.

If the site is later operated by a registered company, the sentence above will be updated to name that company, and the rest of these terms will then apply to that company without any other change.

The Operator can be reached by email at contact@magicalmeta.ink. See section 24 for what to send there.

3. What Magical Meta Is

Magical Meta is an independent trading card game price tracking and market analytics site. It is free to use and does not require an account. The site currently covers One Piece TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, Riftbound (League of Legends TCG), Gundam Card Game, Disney Lorcana, and Union Arena.

Features include:

Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time. Nothing here promises that a particular tool or page will keep existing.

4. Eligibility and Minimum Age

You must be at least 13 years old to use Magical Meta. If you are under 13, please do not use the site.

Magical Meta is a general audience site about trading card games. It is not directed to children under 13, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to use the site. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, email us at contact@magicalmeta.ink and we will delete it.

If you are 13 or older but under the age of majority where you live, you may use the site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, who is then responsible for your use of it. In all cases you must be old enough, on your own or with that consent, to form a binding agreement where you live.

5. Pricing Data Is Informational Only

This is the most important section on this page, so please read it carefully.

Tier lists, staple rankings, deck ratings, and article commentary are opinions and editorial judgment, not statements of fact.

6. Acceptable Use

You may browse the site, use its tools, and share links to its pages. You may quote small excerpts with attribution and a link back.

You agree not to:

If you want bulk or programmatic access to data, contact us instead of taking it. We are usually happy to talk.

7. Intellectual Property

Our content. The site's original written articles, guides, analysis, rankings, layout, design, code, branding, and the compilation and presentation of data are owned by the Operator and protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy or reuse them beyond ordinary personal viewing and short attributed quotation.

Third-party content. Card names, card images, set names, logos, artwork, and game trademarks are the property of their respective owners, including Konami, Wizards of the Coast, The Pokemon Company, Riot Games, Bandai, Disney and Ravensburger, and Bandai Namco. They are used here for identification, reference, and commentary.

Non-affiliation. Magical Meta is an independent fan and analytics site. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected to Konami, Wizards of the Coast, Hasbro, The Pokemon Company, Nintendo, Riot Games, Bandai, Bandai Namco, Disney, Ravensburger, TCGPlayer, or any other publisher or marketplace mentioned on the site.

If you are a rights holder and believe content on this site infringes your rights, send a notice to the email address in section 24 and we will review the request promptly.

8. Content You Submit

Some parts of the site let you create or submit content, such as decklists, deck names, and notes. You keep ownership of what you submit.

By submitting content you:

We may remove, edit, or refuse any submitted content at our discretion, and we are under no obligation to store or back up anything you submit.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

Magical Meta links to and relies on services we do not control, including:

Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and your use of them is between you and them. We are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing, order fulfillment, or conduct. A link is not an endorsement.

10. Affiliate Disclosure

TCGPlayer product links on Magical Meta are affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking one, the site may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. That commission helps pay for data, tooling, and server costs.

Affiliate relationships do not change the pricing data we display or the rankings we publish. Prices are reported as sourced, and editorial opinions are our own.

11. Advertising

Magical Meta is supported by advertising and displays ads through Google AdSense. Ads, including personalized ads where permitted, may be served alongside site content, and third parties may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver and measure them.

For details on cookies, ad personalization, and how to opt out, see our Privacy Policy.

We do not control which specific ads appear, and an advertisement on this site is not an endorsement of the advertiser or its products. Interfering with, blocking around, or fraudulently interacting with ads on the site (for example, generating invalid clicks) is prohibited.

If you use an ad blocker, the site may show you a notice asking you to allow ads. Verified Patreon supporters are not shown ads, and are exempt from that notice, on the limited terms described in section 12.

12. Patreon Support and the Supporter Benefit

Supporting Magical Meta on Patreon is entirely optional. The site is free either way, and no feature is locked behind support.

What the benefit actually is. Being a verified supporter switches advertising off. In a browser that has passed the check, Magical Meta does not load Google AdSense, so no banner ads, no in content ads, and no automatically placed ads are served to you, and the notice asking you to turn off your ad blocker does not appear either. That applies across the whole site: wherever Magical Meta would show you an advertisement, a verified supporter is not shown one. That now includes the home page, the deckbuilders, the articles index and the Riftbound article pages, which until recently it did not. Some parts of the site carry no advertising for anyone in the first place, the collection tracker among them, so there is nothing there for the benefit to switch off.

What it does not cover. It is not an ad blocker, and it changes nothing outside this site. TCGPlayer price links, product links, and the price and shopping widgets stay exactly where they are, for supporters and for everyone else. Those are affiliate links, disclosed in section 10, and the site may earn a commission when you buy through one, but they are how Magical Meta shows you what a card is worth rather than advertising sold against the page, and taking them away would take away the pricing the site exists to publish. Content embedded from other services, such as YouTube videos, follows those services' own rules and may still carry their advertising.

Pages the check cannot switch off. There are none. Every page that serves advertising now does so through the site's ad loader, which is the component the supporter check controls, so a verified supporter is served no advertisement anywhere on this site. An earlier version of these terms recorded a gap here, covering the home page, the deckbuilders and the articles index, which loaded Google's advertising script from their own markup; the Riftbound article pages had the same problem and were not listed. That script has been removed from all of them and the gap is closed. If it ever reopens, the check genuinely cannot stop a page that loads Google's script itself, and we would rather record that here than let you assume otherwise.

How the benefit is switched on, and its limits. After you support, you connect your Patreon account once and we check with Patreon that your membership is active, paid, and to this campaign. Free Patreon tiers do not qualify. When that check passes, the benefit is switched on. Please read the following limits before supporting, because they are the part people are most often caught out by:

Because verification is tied to a browser rather than to an account, we cannot restore it for you, transfer it between devices, or look it up on your behalf. Running the check again is always the fix.

Billing, cancellation, and refunds. All memberships are sold, billed, processed, and managed by Patreon under Patreon's own terms and privacy policy. We do not handle your payment and never see your card details. Change or cancel your membership through Patreon.

We do not offer refunds. Patreon support is a voluntary contribution toward the running costs of the site, not the purchase of a product, a subscription to a service, or a guaranteed level of service. Any refund is entirely at Patreon's discretion under Patreon's policies, and any refund request has to go to Patreon rather than to us.

Best effort only. The supporter benefit is provided on a best effort basis. It depends on both Patreon's systems and Google's advertising systems, neither of which we control, and it may fail, be delayed, change, or be withdrawn at any time without notice. Supporting Magical Meta does not entitle you to this benefit, to any particular feature, to continued availability of the site, or to any other service, and interruptions to it are not grounds for a refund.

13. Locally Stored Data: Collection Tracker and Deckbuilder

The Collection Tracker and Deckbuilder save your data in your own web browser using localStorage. That data lives on your device. It is not uploaded to our servers, and we cannot see it, recover it, or restore it for you.

This means:

We are not liable for any loss of locally stored collection or deck data, for any reason.

14. Beta Features

Some features, including the Collection Tracker, are labeled beta. Beta features are experimental and are provided without any warranty. They may contain bugs, produce incorrect results, lose data, change without notice, or be removed entirely. Use them with that expectation.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, error free, or free of harmful components, or that any data, price, ranking, or result obtained through the site will be accurate or reliable.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, collection records, deck data, goodwill, or trading or purchasing losses, arising out of or relating to your use of the site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the site is limited to one hundred United States dollars (USD $100.00).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. In that case the exclusions and limitations apply to the greatest extent permitted by law.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Operator from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the site, your violation of these terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third party's rights, including through content you submit.

18. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time, with or without notice. This includes games covered, tools offered, pages published, and data made available. We are not liable to you for doing so.

19. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated as the site changes. When they are, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Updated terms take effect when they are posted. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the revised terms, so it is worth checking this page from time to time.

20. Termination and Refusal of Access

We may restrict, block, rate limit, or refuse access to the site, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, including suspected violation of these terms, abusive traffic, or scraping. Because the site does not use accounts, this normally takes the form of technical blocking rather than account closure.

The sections of these terms that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, survive any termination of your access.

21. Governing Law and Venue

These terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or to the site, are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

Any such dispute must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and the Operator each consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.

These terms do not require arbitration and do not ask you to give up your right to take part in a class action. Disputes are resolved in court. Nothing in this section prevents either party from bringing a claim in a small claims court that has jurisdiction over it, and nothing in these terms takes away a protection given to you by the law of the place where you live that cannot be waived by agreement.

22. California Residents

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, places obligations on a business only if it meets at least one of three thresholds: annual gross revenue above 25 million United States dollars, buying, selling, or sharing the personal information of 100,000 or more California residents or households in a year, or earning 50 percent or more of its annual revenue from selling or sharing personal information. Magical Meta meets none of them. We would rather tell you plainly where the site stands than claim a compliance status it does not have. If the site grows past any of those thresholds, this page and our Privacy Policy will be updated and the extra rights and notices the law then requires will be provided.

Independently of that, if you live in California you can email contact@magicalmeta.ink to ask what personal information about you the site holds, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or to ask us not to use it for personalized advertising. We will act on requests like these as a matter of practice. In most cases the honest answer will be that there is very little to send you: the site has no accounts, your deck and collection data never leaves your own browser, and what reaches our servers is limited to ordinary web request logs.

Personalized advertising is the one area where more than that is involved. Ads on this site are served by Google, and where personalized ads are shown, information about your visit is made available to Google and its advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. You can turn ad personalization off at any time through Google Ads Settings, and the further opt out routes and details are described in our Privacy Policy.

23. General

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect and the unenforceable part is limited to the minimum extent necessary. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and the Operator regarding the site.

24. Contact

The formal contact channel for Magical Meta is email: contact@magicalmeta.ink. Use it for anything that should be on the record, including:

A copyright notice should identify the work you say has been infringed, give the exact address of the page or file on this site, include your contact details, and include the statements required of a notice under United States copyright law, 17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3). Please allow a reasonable time for a reply.

For general questions, feature ideas, and data corrections, the fastest route is our Discord server. Discord is not a formal notice channel, so anything legal, privacy related, or time sensitive should go to the email address above.
